PPL(A)

A Private Pilot License (Airplane) or PPL(A) is a certification that allows an individual to pilot a helicopter for personal use. It enables them to operate a helicopter during daylight hours, in good weather conditions, and within a specified distance from the departure point. The holder can carry passengers but is not allowed to conduct commercial operations or fly for compensation.

To obtain a PPL(A), the following requirements must be met:

  • 17 years of age
  • Pass 9 theory subjects
  • Obtain a Class 2 medical certificate
  • Achieve an English Language Proficiency (ELP) level 4
  • Complete a minimum of 45 hours of flying time, including solo and cross-country flight requirements


CPL(A) – Modular Course

The CPL(A) modular course is an ad on to the PPL(A) course, allowing you to study and fly at your own pace.

The license that allows the holder to act as a pilot-in-command (PIC) of an airplane for hire or reward. To obtain an EASA CPL(H), an individual must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Hold a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate
  • Pass 13 theoretical knowledge exams
  • Pass a practical flight test
  • Meet minimum flight experience requirements, a total of 185 hours

Once you obtained the CPL(H) you can start working as a professional airplane pilot in the European Union or in other countries that have signed Mutual Recognition Agreements with EASA.


CPL(A) – Integrated Course

The CPL(A) integrated course is for those who wants to go from no flying experience straight to commercial license.

The professional pilot license allows the holder to act as a pilot-in-command (PIC) of an airplane for hire or reward. To obtain an EASA CPL(A), an individual must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Hold a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate
  • Pass 13 theoretical knowledge exams
  • Pass a practical flight test
  • Meet minimum flight experience requirements, a total of 195 hours 

Once you obtained the CPL(A) you can start working as a professional helicopter pilot in the European Union or in other countries that have signed Mutual Recognition Agreements with EASA.
